Self Service Password Reset (SSPR)
In compliance with the recent requirement to use 16-character passwords, Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) is replacing myPassword as CUIMC’s self-help tool for CUIMC email and MC domain account password management.

Passphrase Requirements
- Passphrases that include lowercase/uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters are suggested but not required. See tips for creating memorable passphrases
- Must be a minimum of 16 characters and a maximum of 64 characters
- It must be different from the three previous passwords
- Avoid reusing parts of previous passwords
- Avoid CUIMC-related terms such as "Columbia," "CUIMC," or other common terms, including your name and UNI, which is not allowed
- Avoid using the same password for different accounts
To reset your password or unlock your account:
New Users:
If you haven’t used your CUIMC email account yet, please follow the steps below:
- Select the "Enroll in Microsoft's SSPR" button to initiate account activation
- For username: yourUNI@cumc.columbia.edu (your email address)
- For password: use the temporary password you received
- You will be prompted to set a new password. Please see the Passphrase Requirements above
- Complete the SSPR registration as indicated
