New Teams (Teams 2) Releasing April 2024

New Teams (T2) is Microsoft's new Teams application. T2 replaces the current version of Teams, which is now called "Classic Teams."
The upgrade is automatic for all CUIMC-enrolled computers. To learn more, please view the attached presentation (in PDF format).
CUIMC-IT will also be rolling out a faculty and staff conference line feature for new Teams meetings; users who wish to call into a Teams meeting can use the provided number:
Some of the New Teams highlights:
- View a colleague’s online status, next available calendar slot in Outlook, work hours, local time, or work location (remote or in-office) by selecting their profile photo.
- Access your contacts through the new People app, which replaces the previous Contacts feature in Chat.
- All Teams app notifications can be managed directly in the Teams app Settings.
- Updated colors, tooltip styles, and a refreshed overall appearance.
- Organization: navigate to the people someone works with from their profile card within Teams by selecting Organization.
- Conference Line: new meetings will include a conference line number (Staff and Faculty only).
You will see the Try New Teams toggle in the top left corner of your Teams application (screenshot and some additional details below).We recommend you switch to the new version.
